Laneige Professional Makeup Remover Lip and Eye Review

The first step to cleansing your face at night would be to remove any makeup and dirt from your environment.  Your skin needs time to rest, breath and relax.  The only way to do that is if you cleanse your skin properly.  Leaving your skin unclean will cause several skin problems such as break-outs and infection.  Facial cleansers don’t work as well for removing make up since it is gentle and NOT meant for eyes most of the time.  If you’re an eye rubber…please stop now!  You’re causing the skin around your eyes to sag and age prematurely.

Laneige Professional Makeup Remover for Waterproof Lip and Eye is a dual layered make up remover.  What’s a dual layered make up remover you say?  I’m sure you’ve seen it or used it before since it’s been around for awhile now.  If you look at the bottle, it has two layers, the top is oil-based remover, and the bottom is soap-based remover.  This works well because it removes all types of impurities and dirt while removing tough waterproof make-up.  I used to use soap-based removers because I was not comfortable drenching oil onto my face since I have oily skin, but dual-layered doesn’t feel as greasy and I hate greasy.

Oil-based makeup remover work great since it breaks down blackheads and clogged pores to achieve a clean and smooth skin while soap-based remover works best on oil free type make up.  The skin around your eyes are so thin and sensitive, so when you’re removing or applying makeup try to avoid pulling or tugging.

When removing eye makeup, soak a piece of cotton pad till it’s partly soaked but not dripping to prevent getting it  in your eyes.  Although this remover is very gentle, you don’t want to flush your eyes with makeup remover.  Using the three middle fingers to hold on to the cotton pad, look down with your hand’s palm up and toward your face.  While closing your eye, gently place the cotton pad onto your eye in an upward motion, lifting your eyelashes so you can get the underside, where most of the mascara lies.  Remember to close your eyes and do not open them for around a minute.  After around 15-20 seconds, remove the pad, and you’ll notice, without needing to rub, the make-up and dirt have dissolved onto the pad.  Gently pat away the excess makeup remaining.

This makeup remover is in a very cute pink bottle and the gentle scent is very relaxing.  I recommend this to all skin types, including acne-prone skin types.  Oil-based cleansers will not clog or make your acne worse.  Even though makeup remover removes a lot of the dirt and makeup, we still need to follow with our easy 3-step cleansing routine:  facial cleanser, toner, and moisturizer.  I’ve been on a Laneige trial for a week now and I can’t wait to tell you about some of the other products I’ve tried.
