Yes to Cucumbers Soothing Eye Gel – Review

Having a light and hydrating eye cream/gel in your everyday routine will help ensure that your eyes remain youthful for as long as possible.  I find that a lot of people have little bumps around their eyes called milia and don’t understand why.  There are a few things to keep in mind when you are applying products on your face.  You should never apply face cream/lotion around your eyes and do not use a heavy cream if you know you are prone to developing milia around your eyes.  Try to avoid aggressive chemicals, picking at it with your hands, rough pillow cases, and sun exposure.  The skin around our eye is extremely sensitive and must be dealt with the utmost care.  If it has not gone away in a few months and have gotten worse please consult your family physician.

I’ve used this soothing-eye-gel for a couple of months and I must say that it does keep the puffiness down and brightens the eyes.  It contains organic cucumbers, green tea, chamomile, and dead sea minerals.  It’s very gentle and I have not experienced any sensitivity around my eyes.  I use this during the day time and sometimes at night.  This product can be purchased at Shoppers Drug Mart for around $20.

Shu Uemura High Performance Balance Cleansing Oil

I’ve always had slightly oily skin and when I used to always hear people using cleansing oil, it’d send shivers down my spine.  To my surprise, it’s now one of my favorite face cleansers!  I only need 1-2 pumps and apply it evenly all over my face, then emulsify with a bit of water then rinse off.  ALL of my make-up would just melt off my face which saves me time and money on the make up remover.  The price is a little steep but if you buy the larger bottle it’s a better deal.

I haven’t had any problems with break-outs since I started using this, in fact, my skin has improved because it regulates my skin and cleanses gently without stripping all the good stuff.

Go to your nearest Shu Uemura counter and ask for a sample to try~

Becoming a Hairdresser Week 2

Week two was all about scrunching, twist scrunching, sectioning, and also shampooing.  We practiced a bricklay roller set and styled for fun.  Scrunching is fun and easy way to get a natural  look for wavy and curly hair.  All you need is a diffuser and product.

Sectioning on the mannequin is pretty tough since the hair isn’t as fine and evenly distributed as a human but if I can get it perfect on her then I can do an amazing job on a human!

After spending so much time under bright light and heating up my face with the blow dryer, my skin is feeling dryer than ever.  Even though my skin is dry, my skin develops a layer of shine that is very unpleasant.  Touching up make up is hard since it’s dry underneath so I am going to search for a product that can clean, moisturize, and prep my skin for touch ups~

Becoming a hairdresser week 3

This week, my adrenalin had begun to run low so my body was pretty fatigue and restless.  But, I’m still excited everyday to learn new things.  I finally had a cutting class and I learnt how to cut a square one-length trim.  Hopefully I can find models to practice on in the near future.

Practicing shampooing and styling each other’s hair in class is slowly becoming a routine.  It’s so fun to do other people’s hair and of course having my hair done by others.  I’ve got to go study for my test tomorrow now so I’m cutting it short!  I’m excited for classes next week!

Chanel Precision Hydramax + Teinte SPF 15

Tinted moisturizers are a must have in every girl’s skin care routine because it’s the easiest way to achieve beautiful and natural skin without looking like you’re wearing any make up at all.  Plus, most of them have SPF 15+ in them so you can skip the sun block.

The one that matched my skin best was in 10 Sable.  The texture was very moist and easy to apply.  When you are in doubt as to how much you need always start with a small pea-size amount because it’s easier to control that way, plus because this product is a high end product, I like to make sure they last as long as possible.

This is what the skin looks like after application.  Smooth, healthy, and hydrated.  The coverage is very little but does change the overall appearance of your skin.  The product blends so well into your skin that it feels like you’re wearing nothing at all!

This is a great product!  Not only does it smell nice, the moisturizer isn’t too heavy and has not caused me to break out.  It’s great for all those in between days when your skin needs a break or girls who enjoy being au natural.  This bottle lasted me about 6 months but I did not use it everyday.

Remember to finish the look with some loose powder and curled lashes.

I do not recommend this for people who are sensitive to fragrances because it’s pretty strong-smelling.
